Our Mascot, Spudley Spudtacular

    Our Executive Director

Off The Couch Events began in 2009 as a small volunteer group.  As a mother of a differently-abled young adult, Executive Director Shauna Perkins saw the need for a program that addressed the socialization needs of these individuals.  Often when young adults leave high school and transition centers, they become isolated from their peers.  Supported with dedicated family and friends, OTCE Activity Night was created.

Shauna is a native of Portland, Oregon.  She currently resides with her husband, John, of 41 years and her poodle, Aldo, in Chandler, Arizona.  She is a lover of almost* all animals.  Shauna has three grown children and is a Grammie.

In 2012, she was honored as a  recipient of a City of Portland People Making a Difference Award.  She is also a 2013 KATU Channel 2 Everyday Hero.

Shauna knows the value of being paid in smiles-it's priceless.
